Luisa Quinchia

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Biography

Dr. Luisa Quinchia is a small-animal veterinarian with a lifelong passion for animals, one that took root long before she ever imagined it would become her career. As a child, while her mom encouraged more traditional toys like Barbies, Luisa gravitated toward anything animal related. By age 8, she was playing Wii games that let her perform surgery on zoo animals, an early sign of the path she was destined for.

Dr. Quinchia earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean and completed her clinical training at Cornell University Hospital for Animals. Before becoming a veterinarian, she spent several years working as a veterinary technician in Austin, Texas, gaining hands-on experience that continues to shape her approach to patient care today.

Her clinical interests include dermatology and complex cases that call for thoughtful, detail-oriented diagnostic work. Dr. Quinchia especially enjoys getting to know her patients and their families, and she believes that clear communication, compassion, and individualized care are essential to being a great veterinarian.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Quinchia enjoys spending time with her own pets: two bulldogs, a long-haired tortoiseshell kitten, and a Mexican red-knee tarantula.
