As we set reminders for medical appointments and important dates for our two-legged family members in 2021, it’s important to do the same for our four-legged family members.
Pets require routine wellness care, just like us humans. Preventive wellness examinations are a nose-to-tail check-up designed to help monitor your pet’s health and look for early signs of chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, kidney disease, arthritis, and cancer. During these examinations, your pet will also have a dental health evaluation, intestinal parasite evaluation, and screening for exposure to common tick diseases and heartworm disease.
Our veterinarians also use this time to administer timely and appropriate vaccines to pets of all ages so they stay protected from transmissible and zoonotic diseases that can cause serious, if not deadly, health complications.
Common cat vaccines include: Rabies, feline distemper, feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), and feline herpesvirus (FHV).
Common dog vaccines include: Parvovirus, rabies, leptospirosis, Lyme, canine influenza, canine distemper, and kennel cough.
