Fear Free Certified

Fear Free

Making visits more comfortable.

What's Fear Free?

Fear Free is a certification available in the veterinary industry for team members who demonstrate their commitment to reducing the stress and fear that pets feel during visits through a variety of scientific methods. We believe a commitment to fear free visits to be vitally important, as it has a range of benefits for you and your pet.

Why It Matters

When an animal experiences stress, it affects their physiological systems such as heart rate, body temperature, and blood pressure. These are primary systems that veterinary professionals measure in order to evaluate your pet’s health. When stress alters these systems, it can make it difficult to know if there is a real health issue or if it’s just a stress response. It can also mask health problems.

How It Works

We use a variety of strategies and tactics to promote fear-free visits. These include how we handle pets, the layout of our hospital, the use of pheromones and soothing music, and other methods that have been scientifically proven to give your pet a better experience—and make a positive impact on their health and well-being.
