Richard W. Maus, DVM
Dr. Richard Maus is the president and owner of the Westfield Veterinary Group. He has cared for pets at the hospital since 1982.
Dr. Maus became interested in veterinary medicine at a young age. After taking a summer job at an animal hospital in New City, NY, he developed an early love for veterinary medicine. Dr. Maus finds it particularly rewarding when he can help strengthen the bond between people and their pets through veterinary medicine.
He attended Cornell University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1976. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Maus went on to attend the University of Missouri, Columbia where he received a Master's Degree in Animal Nutrition in 1977. Dr. Maus continued his education at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.
Dr. Maus' animal companions include two silver buff Cocker Spaniels, Belle and Daisy. He and his wife, Janet, are the proud parents of five adult children and one grandchild. When he's not at the hospital, Dr. Maus can be found doing repairs around the house, traveling, and playing golf.
