Clare Deming, DVM

Claire Deming, DVM

Growing up in Maryland, Dr. Clare Deming was surrounded by a variety of animals - cats, snakes, lizards, a parakeet, and even a rat. She didn't know how to help them when they got sick so in the sixth grade, she decided to become a veterinarian. As our Medical Director for the Emergency Department, Dr. Deming loves to be available at odd hours to help people and their pets when something unexpected happens.

Dr. Deming attended the University of Maryland, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science. She continued her education at the University of Florida, and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Following veterinary school, Dr. Deming completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Garden State Veterinary Specialists.

During her internship, Dr. Deming discovered her attraction to emergency medicine, and she has a particular interest in trauma, cardiology, and feline medicine. She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Dr. Deming and her husband share their home with cats Mercury, Orion, and Ace, as well as an aquarium of fish. In her free time, Dr. Deming enjoys fencing, writing, gardening, and anything else that gets her outside.
